IVE‘s Rei recently posted a stunning cover of LNGSHOT‘s “FaceTime.”
While many were grateful that she drew attention to the rookie boy group and their music, others realized quickly that she had initially failed to mention the original artist’s name in her post.
The least y’all could do is give credit to the original artist of this song. Not even in your YouTube or IG post did you credit or link to Lngshot. https://t.co/1HJciNkYl0

Others defended Rei, arguing that it could be company rules. She had mentioned the group through private messaging with fans.
can’t you please delete? maybe that was her company rules, but she mentioning them in waverse 😪 https://t.co/AxINaDCVEZ pic.twitter.com/VH4oHINcUa

Things got a little out of hand and many insisted that she give LNGSHOT credits on her public platform.
y’all are purposely being dumb in qrts. of course fans are going to ask for credits – not everyone is subscribed to her bubble. it’s on both the covering artist and the company. people listening deserve to know who the og artist is. https://t.co/Vq6Mn764Ao

Rei soon edited the caption after the feedback. She tagged LNGSHOT as per fans’ requests.
Rei’s prompt feedback quickly gained praise.

It seems to have been a genuine oversight!
