MONSTA X Is Ready to Unfold Their Next Era

Seven days, ten tracks, endless anticipation.

The final countdown is officially on. MONSTA X is gearing up to Unfold a new chapter—one that feels both deeply personal and unmistakably grand. Their third full English album, Unfold, arrives April 3 at midnight local time, followed by the title track’s music video at 4 PM KST, setting the stage for what already feels like a major moment in the group’s global journey.

The 10‑track project includes the already‑beloved singles “baby blue” and “growing pains,” two emotionally rich releases that have set early expectations sky‑high. As for the rest of the tracklist—“heal,” “this!,” “before you met me,” “glass half empty,” “main attraction,” “enemies with benefits,” “on our way,” and “sorry to myself”—fans are already buzzing. Even without hearing a single snippet, the titles alone hint at a journey that could swing from tender to bold, from reflective to mischievous. If MONSTA X’s history is any indication, we’re in for a treat; the names themselves feel like invitations into stories we haven’t heard yet but can’t wait to unfold.

Of course, MONSTA X’s fluency in English music didn’t appear overnight. Since their 2015 debut, English lyrics have been a natural part of their sound, but All About Luv (2020) marked a watershed moment, expanding their global reach and setting a new standard for K‑pop acts in Western markets. Its follow‑up, The Dreaming (2021), cemented their reputation as artists who could deliver English‑language projects with sincerity, polish, and emotional weight. Even their Korean releases, most recently, One of a Kind, Shape of Love, and The X, feature tracks that leaned heavily into English, a testament to their comfort and creativity across languages.

That legacy makes Unfold feel especially anticipated. MONSTA X’s English discography is already rich and varied: the aching softness of “baby blue,” “growing pains,” and “Whispers in the Dark”; the electrifying punch of “WHO DO U LOVE?,” “Play It Cool,” “Got My Number,” and “You Problem”; and the smooth R&B warmth of “Magnetic,” “Middle of the Night,” and “Someone’s Someone.” With such a wide emotional and sonic palette behind them, the question isn’t whether they’ll outdo themselves; it’s how.

If the early previews are any indication, Unfold is poised to be another defining moment. A project that captures MONSTA X’s maturity, emotional honesty, and enduring ability to reinvent themselves while staying unmistakably and powerfully MONSTA X.
