After Heeseung appeared incredibly unsure while responding to questions about his solo career plans, some fans began speculating that he might be reading from a script or relying on staff guidance during calls. Small moments, like pauses or glancing off-screen, were enough to fuel the theory.

Guys the way the fan asked heeseung for his future plans and he just got quiet and thought about what to say and looked around the place where the staff was and looked down for 1-2 seconds, where might staffs had putted down a letter for him what to answer, this is so obvious.. pic.twitter.com/1uIAClLcQq

Similar controversy has also surrounded other members’ fan calls and even live broadcasts.
staff caught in the reflection writing Jay’s script on a whiteboard on his own bday.. and y’all still think they have a choice in mentioning heeseung? belift doesn’t let them say a single word that isn’t pre-approved, get a grip honestly pic.twitter.com/ionYinKLcJ

As the discussion picked up, past comments from GHOST9 member Prince started circulating again, offering a very different perspective on how these fan calls actually work.
Ghost9’s Prince |NamuWiki
According to him, most video calls aren’t even run directly by the idol’s company. Instead, they’re handled by third-party services, with staff mainly there to monitor and help with translations, not control what idols say.
Question: “Do idols do those weird fan calls in front of the staff? Are they told to act a specific way during those times by the staff if the staff is present?”
Prince: “False. Most of the time, the fan calls are not actually done by the company. They’re done by a third-party service that specializes in fan calls. So the staff you interact with aren’t your company’s staff. They’re going to be staff you just met. Their job is to monitor the calls. A lot of them are really good at languages, so they can translate global calls. And the staff would not force you to act a certain way.”

While the speculation around Heeseung continues, Prince’s explanation has given fans something to think about—especially when it comes to what really happens behind the scenes.
