According to Star Today, as of April 3, 2026 (KST), actor Kim Seon Ho has confirmed his appearance in tvN’s new K-Drama, God Bless The Assemblyman (unofficial title), with filming set to begin this week. The cast, including Kim Seon Ho’s co-stars Kim Yoon Seok, Ryu Kyung Soo, and Ahn Eun Jin, is said to have recently completed its first script reading.

The series is based on a popular web novel of the same name. It follows Gu Young Jin (played by Kim Yoon Seok), a powerful six-term National Assembly member who takes his own life in 2008, only to become a ghost and awaken a decade later in 1998. There, he teams up with Cha Jae Rim (played by Kim Seon Ho), a 9th-grade civil servant, forming an unusual duo as they attempt to take control of the National Assembly.

Cha Jae Rim is a low-ranking civil servant with the ability to see ghosts. After taking in the ghost of Gu Young Jin, he rises meteorically in the political world and faces off against the “living” version of Assemblyman Gu in a high-stakes political battle.

That said, the news is not sitting well with the web novel fans—once again, due to Kim Seon Ho’s past and ongoing scandals. The news of his casting in the role had already sparked some buzz, but the confirmation that his shoot would start this week really set off a wave of hostility online.
