Former Morning Musume member Makoto Ogawa has shared details about her personal life after an expose. Japanese media outlet FLASH first reported that an idol had secretly had a 10-year-old child and had been married.

According to the outlet, she was approached and responded that she would discuss the information herself.
Makoto, who debuted in 2001, remained a member of Morning Musume until 2006, when she graduated. She remained active in various ways, including serving as a member of Dream Morning Musume, until March 2015, when she initially retired.
She returned from retirement in April 2016 as an actress, which she has continued.
According to Makoto, she was married to Takuma Makita, a member of Wyse, in 2015, and later gave birth. The couple divorced in 2020, and her ex-husband has custody of their son, while they co-parent the now 10-year-old.
In a statement shared on her social media, Makoto confirmed the news that she had married, given birth to a child, and divorced.
