Cha Seung-won, Kim Do-hoon
- Preparations are well underway for tvN’s Retired Agent Management Team to open office later this year, where ex-black ops Cha Seung-won (Mercy for None) is now the neighborhood car wash owner. But the comedy-action will soon be calling him back to the field and partnering him with frenemy agent Kim Do-hoon (Dear X). Production is being led by PD Jin Chang-kyu (Buried Hearts) as well as A Bloody Lucky Day writers, Song Hanna and Kim Min-sung. [MBC]
- Netflix is reportedly working on a new mystery-thriller called Outback (transliterated title), which is said to have Ryu Joon-yeol (The 8 Show) and Hong Kyung (Revenant) reviewing offers to potentially headline the upcoming series. Based on the webtoon G’Day by Choi Yong-sung, the adaptation is currently in the early stages, with PD Jeon Doo-kwan (Scene: A Strange Story) attached to direct. [Ilgan Sports, Star News, YTN]
- On Wavve, the countdown is on for the amnesia-ridden Seo Ji-hye (Nice to Not Meet You) to feel her world Reverse as she tries to recover her memory. And she’s showcased next to co-stars Go Soo (Parole Examiner Lee) and Kim Jae-kyung (Grand Shining Hotel) in the new character posters. With both directing and writing led by PD Im Geon-joon, the mystery-romance and revenge tale will be coming to our screens on April 17. [Ilgan Sports]
- JTBC is gearing up for We Are All Trying Here to premiere this week as well on April 18, following the trodden steps ofGu Kyo-hwan (Parasyte – The Grey) in the latest video teaser. But with writer Park Hae-young (My Liberation Notes, My Ajusshi) penning the scripts, I trust that we’re strapped in for an uplifting and thoughtful journey, alongside Go Yoon-jung (Can This Love Be Translated), Oh Jung-se (Tempest), Kang Mal-geum (Surely Tomorrow), as well as Park Hae-joon (Tempest).
