A K-Pop star expressed gratitude to an actress while sharing stories about struggles during his military service.
On the web entertainment show New Woman released on September 8th, 2AM‘s Jo Kwon revealed, “During my military service, both my mother and father were fighting cancer,” adding, “My mother had melanoma and had a toe amputated. My father had colorectal cancer and has had four surgeries so far.”
Jo Kwon said, “At that time, I couldn’t earn money, and contract renewal talks with my company were underway. Being an only child made it even harder. Actress Kim Hye Soo knew about this and said, ‘I hope you stay healthy and just complete your service,’ and she helped me a lot.” He also said that the reason he was largely inactive last year was due to caring for his father.
Jo Kwon and Kim Hye Soo first connected in 2013 during the drama The Queen of Office. Since then, Kim Hye Soo has consistently supported Jo Kwon, attending every musical performance he has done.
