Park Eun-bin and Cha Eun-woo team up in The WONDERfools

A superpowered adventure awaits Park Eun-bin (Hyper Knife) and her ragtag team of fools in Netflix’s upcoming comedy The WONDERfools. Set right before the turn of the millennium when some people thought the end of the world would occur, four unlikely heroes suddenly gain superpowers and fight against an evil threatening their world.
Leading “Team Wonderfools” is the bright and smiley Eun Chae-ni played by Park Eun-bin. A bit unpredictable but hardworking, Chae-ni lives in Haeseong City with her grandmother Kim Hae-sook (Tempest), and for the most part, life is normal for our bubbly heroine until an incident happens in her neighborhood. Something is clearly wrong as a mysterious figure follows Chae-ni through the rundown streets, and it has nothing to do with her energetic rendition of Lee Jung-hyun’s iconic dance moves.
Fellow neighbor and newly superpowered hero Kang Ro-bin, played by Im Sung-jae (Law and the City), thinks they might be broken and wonders if someone sprayed pesticide in their neighborhood. His worries are not completely unfounded since he seems to have gotten super strength as he rips off the door of a burning car like it is paper.
As for Cha Eun-woo (Wonderful World) who plays the stoic government worker Lee Woon-jeong, he grabs a file off a cabinet using telekinesis, and the neighborhood obnoxious busybody Sohn Kyeong-hoon, played by Choi Dae-hoon (Pro Bono), desperately tries to get his cellphone unstuck to his hand. According to Chae-ni, they have what others would call “superpowers,” which can only mean one thing: become superheroes and save the day. From whom exactly? Big bad Sohn Hyun-joo (Your Honor), of course!
The upcoming action-comedy is directed by PD Yoo In-shik (Dr. Romantic 3, Extraordinary Attorney Woo) with scripts written by Heo Da-joong (Extreme Job). The WONDERfools is set to premiere on the streaming site May 15.
