Kim Yo-han, Jung So-min
- A new fantasy romance and Joseon-era sageuk is reportedly in the works, pairing Jung So-min (Would You Marry Me) with Kim Yo-han (Love.exe) in Hae-o-reum-dal Yeol-yi-rae (transliterated title). And my best guess is that it refers to the first month’s (January) seventeenth day. Aiming to release sometime in 2027, PD Park Won-gook (Spring Fever, Marry My Husband) and rookie writer Kim Eun-yoo (winner of KT Studio Genie’s 2023 writing contest) are leading the team. - Shin Eun-soo (Light Shop) is considering a role in Spirited Meal, potentially befriending gangster-cook Jang Geun-seok (Bait) and becoming mother-daughter with Lee El (Surely Tomorrow). Based on the Japanese novel that was also adapted for Japanese drama Otoko Meshi in 2016, the Korean series has PD Lee Min-woo (Not Others) attached to direct and is planning to start filming later this year. - MBC’s Fifties Professionals has dropped its first poster, where the table is set for Shin Ha-kyun (The Auditors), Oh Jung-se (We Are All Trying Here), and Heo Sung-tae (Phantom Lawyer) for a round of spin the bottle gun. The secret identity shenanigans will be unfolding on weekends, when the comedy-action premieres on May 22 next month. PD Han Dong-hwa (Shadow Detective, Navillera) is at the helm with scripts by Jang Won-seop. [MBC]
- On SBS, Im Ji-yeon‘s (Nice to Not Meet You) weapon is a fern and fiercely brandished against the flowers of Heo Nam-joon (A Hundred Memories) in the latest stills for My Royal Nemesis. Coming to our screens in two more weeks, the fantasy time-slip will be regaling a tale of hate and love, beginning on May 8. Production is being led by PD Han Tae-sub (Cheer Up, Stove League) and writer Kang Hyun-joo (Lost in Starlight). [SBS]
- tvN is clocking office time in Filing for Love, showcasing our auditing corporate duo in the latest video teaser. Starring Shin Hye-sun (The Art of Sarah) and Gong Myung (Mercy for None), as well as Kim Jae-wook (To My Beloved Thief) and Hong Hwa-yeon (The Price of Confession), the rom-com will be launching on April 25 this week. Broadcasting on weekends, PD Lee Soo-hyun (My Dearest Nemesis) is directing alongside writing by Yeo Eun-ho (Crash Course in Romance). [Newsen]
- The second season of Coupang Play’s Family Matters is now in filming and promos have kicked off with the first script reading stills. With Bae Doo-na (The Silent Sea), Baek Yoon-shik (Vagabond), Lomon (No Tail to Tell), and Lee Soo-hyun (Family Matters) returning as our black comedy’s odd family, this time they’ll be joined by ‟uncle” Park Byung-eun (Dear Hongrang). Expected to release in 2026, Season 2’s new faces also include Park Ho-san (Karma), Jeon Hye-jin (Mother and Mom), and Kang Ki-young (Mary Kills People) among other talents. [Xports News]
