A trending K-Pop idol-turned-actor recalled the emotional wounds he experienced when he first started acting.
On the 20th, in a video uploaded to broadcaster Ha Ji Young’s YouTube channel, Lee Jun Young looked back on the time after his debut with U-KISS in 2014 and his second debut attempt as an actor in 2017.
When Ha Ji Young said, “You must have heard a lot of comments like, ‘Isn’t that the guy who said he would be a singer?’” Lee Jun Young responded, “It was even harsher than that. I heard things like, ‘Don’t cause trouble for actors who are actually doing well.’ It really hurt.”
He continued, “Our group had songs that were loved by many and we had a lot of supporters, but it was difficult to say we were a successful group. People think idols have lots of opportunities, but it depends on the timing. I felt like quitting here would make me a loser.”
