A top female idol clarified the rumor about her being a drunk woman on a plane.
On the 28th, a video titled “Plastic Surgery, Rent, Dating Rumors, Male Friends, Drunk Woman… All Explained | EP.17 Soyou | Truman Show” was released on YouTube.
In the video, SISTAR‘s Soyou appeared and used a lie detector to address the numerous rumors and prejudices surrounding her. Soyou explained that although she appears as a “tough older sister” type, she is actually an emotional and sensitive INFP type, clearing up misunderstandings about her living in luxury rented housing, having a nose job, and causing a drunken disturbance on a plane.
In particular, regarding the rumor of a drunken disturbance on a plane, she said, “Due to a language misunderstanding during the in-flight meal communication, a security officer came to me, but seeing I was perfectly fine, they immediately left. Later, I felt upset about the unfair attitude of another flight attendant and posted about it on social media.
She continued, “The airline apologized, but the person who spread the rumor maliciously wrote a false story. That person deleted their account and disappeared. That’s how I suddenly became labeled a drunk troublemaker and someone who abuses power.”
Soyou previously revealed that she was subjected to racial discrimination during a US airline flight last year and went without food for 15 hours. A netizen who flew on the same flight posted that Soyou boarded the plane drunk and refused food because she was tired, insisting it shouldn’t be called racial discrimination.
In response, Soyou explained, “I tried to check the meal schedule but could not communicate properly due to poor English, which caused a misunderstanding and led the chief flight attendant and security to come. Although a flight attendant who was with me explained the situation, no apology was made. Later, I requested a Korean menu but received menus in other languages, and unpleasant situations kept recurring.”
