BTS’s V has unexpectedly entered the conversation surrounding a former military colleague’s videos about him.

Recently, an Instagram user named Kim Ki Tae, who reportedly served in the military with V, drew attention for sharing stories about the idol’s time in service. His videos gained traction among fans, with many praising him for speaking warmly about V and sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the military.
However, not everyone was happy with the content.
Some viewers accused Ki Tae of using V’s name for attention and views, while others argued that stories about V’s military experience should be told by V himself, if he chooses to share them.

Amid the mixed reactions, Ki Tae uploaded what he described as his “final video” about V. In the caption, he explained that while many people had enjoyed his videos, he had also seen many comments saying they would prefer V to personally tell the remaining stories in the future.
Some people were disappointed, and many people enjoyed my videos, but there were also many people who said they wanted Taehyung hyung to talk about the later stories himself someday, so I decided to wrap things up as of today. I had thought about making this video for two years, and now, after two years, I ended up sharing it. I think the day will come when the BTS members gather together and talk about their military stories.

The video soon drew another wave of divided reactions. Many fans encouraged Ki Tae to continue sharing stories, arguing that V is not the type to brag about himself and that fans appreciated hearing positive anecdotes about his military service.
The debate only grew after V himself left a comment under the post.

This was not the first time V had commented on Ki Tae’s content. On Ki Tae’s tenth “BTS episode” video, V previously wrote, “Ki Tae, it’s been a while. Your memory is seriously no joke…”
That comment was also seen by many as playful, but with his latest response, fans remain divided over whether V is simply joking with an old military colleague or indirectly addressing the controversy surrounding the videos.
Ki Tae appeared to take V’s comment as encouragement, replying, “Taehyung hyung, got it!! Then I’ll keep going knowing things are good,” along with sunglasses and thumbs-up emojis. He then uploaded another video, further fueling the debate among fans.
While supporters believe V personally gave him the green light, critics argue that the continued content still feels excessive.
