A Korean actor couple addressed misunderstandings surrounding their three daughters.
On the 2nd, SBS‘s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny featured Park Si Eun and Jin Tae Hyun.
They faced many questions about why they only adopt adults. Park Si Eun said, “This is the first time I’m talking about this. When we first considered adoption, it wasn’t about adults. We thought about young elementary school children. It wasn’t easy. We also needed parental consent… Aside from Ji Hye, the other two girls were connected to us from a young age and became family. Only Ji Hye came into our lives as an adult. We’re not deliberately adopting only adults.”
Jin Tae Hyun said, “Because the kids in their 20s became family, there were many opinions asking why we didn’t adopt children. The system is very difficult. Ji Hye and the other daughters are not legally adopted. It’s very challenging.” Kim Gu Ra added, “They are more like foster daughters.”
Jin Tae Hyun revealed that the youngest daughter is 24 years old. He explained, “They said their own lives are very important and they want to be protected. The daughters choose whether or not to be publicly introduced. They are independent and have their own lives. Since we don’t post them on social media, many people ask about them. You don’t need to worry too much. Everyone is doing well.”
