It has been four years since the late Jeong Joongji, a contestant on Mnet’s competition program Produce 101 Season 2, passed away.
Jeong Joongji suddenly passed away on September 9, 2022, at the age of 30. The news of his death was announced through his mother.
At the time, his mother shared her grief on social media, saying, “I can’t put into words how I feel right now,” and revealed a photo of her son’s memorial portrait. According to his mother, Jeong Joongji took his own life.
Jeong Joongji first gained recognition as a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. Although he was eliminated after placing 64th, he later drew attention for his continuous volunteer work and acts of kindness.
During his life, Jeong Joongji actively participated in Loving Hands volunteer activities, helping children and adolescents from single-parent and grandparent-headed households.
He devoted time to volunteering at welfare centers for the disabled and showed his warm heart through hands-on activities, such as delivering briquettes.
Even four years after his passing, tributes continue from those who remember his good deeds and warm spirit.
