A whopping of eight different actors and actresses have been awarded the same exact prize at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, sparking a lot of ridicule online.
Even the atmosphere in the venue turned instantly awkward when four actresses and four actors all won the rookie award.
Among the male stars, Kim Dan (The Winning Try), Kim Moo Jun (Dynamite Kiss), Cha Woo Min(Buried Hearts), and Ha Yu Jun(Spring of Youth) were awarded the win.
Meanwhile, Kim Eun Bi (Our Movie), Park Jung Yeon (The Winning Try), Woo Da Bi (Dynamite Kiss), and Hong Hwa Yeon (Buried Hearts) were named the best new actresses of 2025.

After announcing the male winners, four actors’ names popped up on screen. The audiences initially thought it was four nominees, but then it turned out all four were winners. Even the winners themselves were noticeably confused and clapping awkwardly.

The seemingly unusual method of having multiple winners is actually a tradition during the SBS Drama Awards. However, it has still sparked mixed reactions.
While some netizens feel as though there’s nothing wrong with awarding multiple new faces in the industry, others argue that having multiple winners diminishes the prestige of the award.
- “This isn’t even that bold for SBS. Back in the day, they handed them out in huge batches—actors just kept coming up on stage and it never seemed to end lol.”
- “Awards given out en masse already have zero prestige anyway. It’s basically just an attendance award.”
- “Giving out a lot of Best New Actor awards isn’t a bad thing though.”
- “Didn’t they give out even more in the past?”
- “SBS is known for handing out a lot of Best New Actor awards.”
