In 2021, the fourth installment in the series HIStory, HIStory4: Close To You, aired in Taiwan. The drama showed the story of a sales manager in love with his childhood friend, who recruits a co-worker to attempt to get his attention. A secondary story features An Jun Peng as Ye Xing Si, the company’s director, who falls into an obsessive relationship with his stepbrother, Fu Yong Jie, played by Lin Jia Wei.
Xiao Li Cheng, a top sales manager at a prestigious wedding planning company, excels at business but struggles with love. He’s been in love with Liu Mei Fang since childhood and enlists co-worker Teng Mu Ren to pose as his boyfriend, hoping to spark Mei Fang’s interest. Meanwhile, the company’s creative director, Ye Xing Si, becomes entangled in a complex relationship with his stepbrother, Fu Yong Jie, a medical student obsessed with him. As their emotions grow more complicated, the four men must confront their feelings and decide if they’re ready to follow their hearts.
— Synopsis
Recently, it was revealed that An Jun Peng and Lin Jia Wei would reunite in another series as a couple, the first time a “CP” couple has done so in Taiwanese BL history.
The drama is a live-action adaptation of Double Shuffle, a continuation of another novel, this time focused on a young man and his “uncle-figure.” The story spans the present and past and is angst-heavy, focusing on the familial ties that can complicate relationships.
Though the two characters are not actually related, the series’ details have already raised some eyebrows.

i’m being very genuine when asking but what’s the deal with throwing taboo issues (incest, rlly bad age gaps, etc) in queer media when queerness is already treated as taboo in some regions https://t.co/MjIiDfLnvm
