After revealing belatedly that she broke up after a long-term relationship, Song Ji Hyo opened up honestly about her thoughts on marriage.
On July 9th, a video titled “Nucksal talk is so funny I can’t even grasp it” was uploaded to Song Ji Hyo’s YouTube channel.
That day, Song Ji Hyo hosted Nucksal as a guest, treating him to a meal and having a conversation together. Nucksal, who married in 2022, welcomed his first son the following year and their second son in October last year, shared his struggles with marriage and parenting.
He said, “Dating and marriage are different. In marriage, you have to be more considerate and understanding of the person you live with. When you’re dating, you spend time apart, each has your own home. Unless you live together, you have time to pull yourself together mentally. But with marriage, there’s actually nowhere to run anymore.”
Song Ji Hyo agreed, saying, “Now you can’t run away.” Nucksal continued, “Even if one person is in the living room and the other is in the bedroom, you’re still sharing the same space, so you really need to talk well and truly understand your partner. But it’s fun now. We do lots of hobbies together and raise the kids, living well,” he shared an update on his happy family life.
Hearing this, Song Ji Hyo said, “When I hear stories like this, sometimes I want to get married, but then in reality, living my own life, I lose the thought of marriage. That’s probably why I’m like this, like a noona.”
Nucksal shot back, “Shouldn’t the order be right? Shouldn’t you find the person you’re going to marry first? You keep saying you’re not doing it, then ‘my thoughts about marriage disappear’ and ‘suddenly I want to get married.’” This made Song Ji Hyo snap back, “You have to have the thought of marriage before men even come to mind,” showing off their genuine sibling-like chemistry and adding humor.
Song Ji Hyo caused a stir last December when she confessed on SBS’s Running Man that she had a long-term relationship. She surprised everyone by revealing about her last boyfriend, “About 4 to 5 years ago,” and “We were together a long time. About 8 years.”
