It has been revealed that singer IU has filed a petition to identify a malicious commenter.
On July 15, she filed a petition against Meta in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to obtain evidence for use in the civil defamation lawsuit pending in Korea.
According to Dispatch, IU has identified the Threads account @7h***, who has damaged her image and reputation by posting 52 false posts between March and October of last year.
IU’s side stated that it was difficult to continue the lawsuit in Korea because they could not identify the user. They requested that the U.S. Court order Meta to submit information about the user.
The application submitted the malicious posts in six categories: allegations of plagiarism, false claims related to China, false claims regarding overseas accomplishments, allegations of marketing the deceased, allegations of media control and public opinion manipulation, and linking song lyrics to national tragedies.
Meanwhile, IU has continued to take legal action against malicious commenters.
