- Choi Dae-hoon (Agent Kim Reactivated) is booked and busy, lining up Buy King on his schedule to play secretary to the wealthy, joining Joo Ji-hoon (Climax) as well as Junho (Cashero) in the crime-thriller and black comedy. With the latter two playing uncle and nephew, respectively, in a hidden chaebol family war, the 10-episode series is reportedly in filming. Director Jo Sung-hee (Space Sweepers, A Werewolf Boy) is at the helm with scripts by Lee Shin-ho. [My Daily, Newsen]
- Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game) is said to be reviewing an offer for Netflix’s Outback, potentially acting alongside a puzzling Ryu Joon-yeol (The 8 Show) and a desperate Hong Kyung (Revenant), who journeys to Australia in order to find his missing sister. The mystery-thriller and webtoon-adaptation will unfold over 8 episodes and has PD Jeon Doo-kwan (Scene: A Strange Story) attached to direct. [Ilgan Sports, JTBC]
- KBS’s Love on the Menu has dropped a new poster ahead of this week’s premiere, blossoming romance once again to give the star-crossed Ha Suk-jin (Siren’s Kiss) and Hani, a.k.a. Ahn Hee-yeon, (Call It Love) a second chance at romance. Also starring Park Yoo-na (Spirit Fingers) and Bae Jung-nam (Spring Fever) among the talented generational cast, the family drama and weekender begins on July 25. [KBS]
- On MBC, Gong Hyo-jin (When the Stars Gossip) takes charge as A Bona Fide Killer in the latest poster and leads her sniper teammates, including Sung Dong-il (We Are All Trying Here) and Kim Nam-hee (Moon River). With Jung Joon-won (Resident Playbook) and Lee Sang-yi (The Legend of Kitchen Soldier) headlining the thriller as well, the drama will be coming to our screens on July 31 this month. [MBC]
- In the meantime, Disney+’s A Shop for Killers 2 is armed and ready for tomorrow’s grand re-open on July 22, assembling the second season’s players in the newest video teaser. The novel-adaptation picks up from where we left off in Season 1, with our uncle-niece duo Lee Dong-wook (The Nice Guy) and Kim Hye-joon (Cashero) at the center of the action once again. Production has PD Lee Kwon (Rescue Me 2) leading the team in both directing and scripts. [Sports Donga]
- Preparations continue on Coupang Play with a bundle of stills from The Affair Was Just the Beginning (previously Cheating Is Not the Issue Here), showcasing the black comedy’s leads: Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked), Jo Yeo-jung (Made in Korea), Kim Ji-hoon (Dear X) and Kim Jae-chul (Perfect Crown). Helmed by PD Lee Chang-hee (A Killer Paradox, Hell Is Other People) with Jung Eun-kyung and Park Soo-rin co-writing, the twisted tale is slated to premiere on July 31. [SBS]
