Reasons to watch: tVN’s new rom-com is aiming to stave off the winter blues with their sunny new series, Spring Fever.
The drama stars Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Joo-bin in an opposites attract story that’s set in a quiet rural village. Our heroine is a high school teacher from Seoul, and for reasons yet unknown, she relocates to the countryside to teach at the local school.
No man is an island, but Lee Joo-bin is determined to prove that a woman can be an island when her resolve to live a closed-off, solo life is shaken with the appearance of Ahn Bo-hyun. The uncle of one of her students, he has all the makings of a Bad Guy and rumors abound of him being a violent, big-time gangster. The reality though is that he’s a softie with big feelings who is devoted to raising his nephew, Jo Joon-young. He may look scary with his muscles and his tattoos, but he wears his heart on his sleeve. When Lee Joo-bin arrives in the village, it’s love at first sight.
The setup of our female protagonist falling in love despite herself, paired with the promise of a male protagonist who knows how to pursue his love interest with an open heart, has piqued my interest and here’s hoping the drama can live up to its potential.
