Genre: Family, romance, weekender
Episode count: 50

Reasons to watch: The new KBS weekender is serving up romance and family woes in Love on the Menu, with Ha Suk-jin and Hani starring as two star-crossed lovers granted a second chance at love.
Ha Suk-jin plays a man who has newly returned to Seoul after years spent in Italy training to become a chef. He’s a man of privilege and wealth, but his stint in Italy wasn’t a dilettante’s half-baked whim, it was the achievement of his oldest dream realized. As a teen, he gave up on ever becoming a chef in favor of running the restaurant business his parents had built. He got all of the right degrees and then resolved to learn everything from the bottom up by picking up shifts as a server in the family restaurant. It’s during his Undercover Boss era that he gets to know and falls for a fellow server, Hani.
Hani is working at the restaurant to help provide for her family. Though she’s only in her twenties at the time, there’s no secret inheritance she can rely on, so she’s given up on her dreams to help keep her family afloat (and it’s a big family as she’s the oldest of five). At a time when love feels like a luxury she can’t afford, she falls for Ha Suk-jin but their relationship comes to an abrupt end.
Eight years on, she’s working at a banchan store in Seoul and she gets the shock of her life when she sees the new business on the block is run by none other than Ha Suk-jin. They can’t seem to keep away from each other, and something sparks between them once more.
Weekenders and their 50 episodes may not be for everyone, but if you stick around, you’ll be rewarded with a romance that will have heaps of yearning that dares to to cross class lines in the name of love. As befitting a weekender, there will also be several other lovelines and family entanglements drawing in the rest of the ensemble cast, with Jin Kyung, Kwon Hae-hyo, Ryu Seung-soo, Park Yoo-na, and Bae Jung-nam just some of the names who will be joining our leads.
