A prominent fansite dedicated to ENHYPEN‘s NI-KI, known as sweeter_nk, has come under intense scrutiny after her behavior at the group’s recent U.S. concerts sparked backlash.
The controversy gained attention around the same time NI-KI addressed concert etiquette during a livestream. He expressed frustration toward fans who appear more focused on receiving interactions from the members than actually enjoying their performances.

Fans immediately alleged that he might have been indirectly referring to sweeter_nk. Amid the growing discussion, sweeter_nk temporarily closed her account before returning with a lengthy apology explaining her actions at a concert in the U.S. The incident centered around a bouquet of sunflowers she threw onto the stage, which Sunoo caught and posed with.

According to accounts circulating among fans, the fansite then allegedly became upset and cried while repeatedly trying to get Sunoo to pass the bouquet to NI-KI. Sunoo was ultimately unable to do so and returned the flowers.
In her apology, sweeter_nk claimed there had been a misunderstanding surrounding her intentions.
“Sunoo knows very well that I like SunKi. I prepared the sunflowers for Sunoo and the roses for NI-KI. Wanting to see a two-shot of them was my own personal wish. As a result, I think I ended up behaving in a way that took advantage of Sunoo’s kindness. I’m truly sorry. I feel incredibly apologetic toward both Sunoo and Sunoo’s fans.”

She also admitted that attending numerous ENHYPEN fansigns had distorted her perception of her relationship with the members.
“Because I had participated in ENHYPEN’s fansigns so many times, I misunderstood the appropriate distance between myself and the members. Ideeply regret behaving disrespectfully in America. I ruined the atmosphere of an important moment for NI-KI, who loves America, because I prioritized my own desire to see him. I’m truly sorry.”

She then announced the closure of sweeter_nk.
However, the explanation only fueled further criticism.
Fans questioned her claim that the sunflowers had been intended for Sunoo, pointing out that videos of the incident allegedly showed only the sunflower bouquet, with the roses she mentioned nowhere to be seen. Others noted that sunflowers have previously been associated with NI-KI as a favorite flower, leading some to accuse her of changing her explanation after receiving backlash.

As the controversy grew, fans also began resurfacing allegations about the fansite’s previous behavior. Fans claimed that she was previously visibly emotional or crying at fansigns when interactions with NI-KI did not go as she had hoped, leading to accusations that she had developed an unhealthy sense of entitlement toward the idol.
Other posts circulated claiming to reveal her past working as a hostess or cabaret club worker in Japan. Cabaret girls are known to drink and entertain men for a living at hostess clubs, often using the money the earn to lead a luxurious life or spend it on hosts or celebrities.

The controversy has consequently become less about her personal background and more about accusations of possessive fan behavior and mistreatment of other members in pursuit of an interaction with her bias. Fans were particularly protective of Sunoo, arguing that he should never have been placed in a position where he was expected to facilitate another fan’s interaction with NI-KI.
