He first went viral for his face.

Earlier this year, a Haidilao employee in Daegu unexpectedly became one of Korea’s most talked-about ordinary workers after customers noticed his resemblance to ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo.

The employee, reportedly named Lee Yo Sep, quickly earned the nickname “Myun Eunwoo,” a pun combining myun, the Korean word for noodles, with Cha Eunwoo’s name. Clips of Lee serving customers spread rapidly across social media in January 2026. Although his height, clear skin, sharp features, and overall resemblance to the idol initially drew attention, customers also began visiting the Daegu restaurant specifically to catch a glimpse of him. The comparison was never entirely serious, with some international viewers jokingly dubbing him the “Cha Eunwoo from Temu.” Still, the unexpected attention turned the Haidilao employee into an overnight sensation.

Now, months after the original craze, netizens have received a major update on what happened to him. Rather than disappearing after his brief viral moment, Lee appears to have become startlingly skilled at Haidilao’s famous hand-pulled noodle performance. A recently shared video showed Lee confidently whipping, spinning, and tossing an exceptionally long strand of dough around his body before serving it to customers.

The movements were noticeably faster and more controlled than those seen in many of his earlier clips. At times, the noodle seemed to circle him like a weapon in a martial arts movie, leading viewers to compare him to a seasoned kung fu master!

I had heard that he had been promoted to bartender, but I got to watch his kung fu noodle performance right in front of me.

Even as a man, I thought he was incredibly handsome and cool.

I couldn’t take my eyes off the performance.

The viral post describing his transformation simply declared that he had become a complete expert. It quickly surpassed 111,000 views and accumulated hundreds of comments. Even more surprisingly, Lee reportedly continued performing despite moving into a new position. While his handsome appearance may have opened the door to viral fame, another video revealed how much work seemingly went into maintaining the performance. A clip from Lee’s personal Instagram showed him practicing alone in a rehearsal room:

The behind-the-scenes footage changed the way many viewers saw his rise. What had begun as a lighthearted story about a handsome employee resembling a celebrity became a far more wholesome example of someone using unexpected attention as motivation to improve his craft.

    • 449. He became famous because of his face, but he practiced diligently and eventually earned recognition for his skills, too. That is admirable.
    • 450. He seems like the kind of person who could succeed at anything.
    • 451. It is nice to see that he seems proud of himself, too, LOL.
    • 452. A whole “noodle performance practice room,” LOL.
    • 453. He is going to become the number-one noodle performer.
    • 454. Wow, he is incredibly good.
    • 455. He is seriously talented. He looks like some kind of martial arts master, LOL.
    • 456. He genuinely looks happy while working.
    • 457. He’s like a martial arts master LOL. I liked him better in black hair, but the bleached hair gives him a Chinese vibe which… fits Haidilao, so I guess that works out.
    • 458. LOL, he looks really happy working, too.
    • 459. A true noodle master. LOL.
    • 460. Haha. He’s so diligent.

At this rate, “Myun Eunwoo” may soon be better known for what he can do with a strand of dough than who netizens think he resembles.
