Actor Byun Yo Han has opened up for the first time about the special reason that led him to decide to marry Girls’ Generation (also known as SNSD) member Tiffany Young after a year and a half of dating.
On September 3rd, a video titled “Yano Shiho, Tiffany – Viewer discretion advised (ft. Byun Yo Han who looks exactly like Choo Sung Hoon)” was released on Choo Sung Hoon’s YouTube channel.
Byun Yo Han, who met with Choo Sung Hoon in the video, talked about his newlywed life, now six months into marriage.
When he said he married Tiffany after dating for about a year and a half, Choo Sung Hoon, surprised by the relatively quick decision, also revealed that he himself dated his wife Yano Shiho for about two years before marrying, bringing laughter.
Then Byun Yo Han shared the decisive moment that made him consider marriage with Tiffany. He said that in previous relationships, he always felt the need to protect the other person. But Tiffany was different.
He confessed, “She was the first woman who protected me, gave me courage, and helped me overcome challenges,” revealing feelings he had never experienced before.
Especially for Byun Yo Han, there had been long-standing fears he couldn’t easily overcome. After experiencing a period of poor health, he hadn’t traveled properly for about ten years and even feared flying. Although he gradually began taking short flights, he didn’t dare to push beyond that limit.
At that time, Tiffany reached out first. Though they were dating secretly then, Tiffany encouraged Byun Yo Han to trust her and follow her lead, even personally booking the best seats on the plane and leading the trip.
For Byun Yo Han, it was more than just a trip. Upon arriving at the destination, he recalled feeling a new emotion so strong that he wondered, “What is this feeling?” It was the first time he felt protected by someone else after always feeling the need to be the protector.
Ultimately, what moved Byun Yo Han was not a grand event, but Tiffany’s act of reaching out first in the face of his long-standing fear. The trust that allowed them to protect each other and move forward was the foundation behind their relatively short one-and-a-half-year romance ending in marriage.
