Over the last few weeks, accounts known for encouraging hate towards other groups have largely targeted BTS. While this was partially fueled by BTS members’ Chris Brown-related controversy, it has transformed into more malicious mentions.
This has been done through the hashtag #BTSDisband, which peaked at #1 the day the Chris Brown controversy surfaced.
Accounts have continued using the hashtag, though with no commentary on the controversy, including the X account for Goose Dating.
Goose Dating is described as a “gay app for more than hookups,” and is currently only available for download in the United Stages.
The platform’s X account has made several posts using trendy social media formatting, and on September 3, shared a video of aespa’s “Kiss And Tell,” while using the hashtag “BTSDisband.”

The post has over 1 million views, with a variety of reactions ranging from support to criticism.
An account dedicated to organizing efforts to report accounts sharing malicious content and threats towards BTS posted instructions on how to report the app on App Stores over the post.
