In Korea, there are bars people are known to attend for hookups, but if idols are spotted there, it has sparked major backlash.

Recently, a YouTuber sparked major attention after releasing a video titled“spilling the tea of drinking with a male idol at a pickup bar,” where a pickup bar is known as “Hunting Pocha,” which is a bar that is designed for hookups.
During the video, the OP explained her shock when seeing the idol, explaining how handsome he was and her interactions with him, including chatting about themselves, among other things.
“Oh, he looks like someone? Say I am A, let’s call him B. He was right there, and as I got closer to him, I kept thinking he looked like B. He didn’t like some lookalike from Temu, but he just looked like the actual person.
So we sat down, and we were just as close to each other as I am to the camera. They were bar tables, so the distance between them was really close. I had no words because he was so handsome. It made me think: was there ever a time I saw a person this handsome up close? It felt like time was moving in slow motion.”
Towards the end of the video, while she acknowledged that some people might not believe her, she explained her surprise at seeing the “top-tier” idol there, especially as he could be recognized.
When the videos were posted, it sparked speculations. Some shared relief that the description of a top-tier idol didn’t match their bias, while some thought it was an SM Entertainment idol.
