Girls’ Generation’s YoonA has been targeted online due to a fake AI-generated image.
The photo, which first circulated online in June, has resurfaced, revealing a fake image of YoonA appearing pregnant next to a man. While the photo was taken down after facing backlash, it seems to have reemerged recently.
This caused even more controversy, as those unaware that it was fake mistook the photo as being real, triggering major concern online.
In response, SM Entertainment released a statement regarding legal action, announcing they would press charges against those creating and spreading defamation, sexual harassment, and deepfakes of their artists.
