A Korean actress revealed that she is considering remarrying with the Chinese man she divorced.
On the episode aired on October 22nd, MBN‘s current affairs and culture program Exclusive World featured Ham So Won.
She revealed that she was temporarily living in an 8-pyeong (approximately 26.4 square meters) studio apartment while remodeling her original home.
She also explained why she had decided to divorce her ex-husband, Jin Hua. She said, “When our child was about five years old, she started to notice when her parents raised their voices. She had the look of ‘Our parents are fighting.’”
She added, “My own parents fighting left such a lasting scar and was very painful for me. So, for my daughter’s sake, I wanted to resolve things quickly.”
However, Ham So Won is currently considering reconciling with Jin Hua. In fact, Jin Hua appeared on the broadcast that day. The two have been seeing each other more frequently since Ham So Won had a car accident in June.
Recalling the time she was hospitalized after the accident, Ham So Won said, “When I was moved from the ICU to a general ward, a caregiver was needed. At that time, I had both a catheter and a stool bag and was wearing diapers. Someone had to carry me. I wondered who could bear to see me like that, and it was only Jin Hua.”
She continued, “I used to think of him as immature, but while he took care of me, I rediscovered new things about Jin Hua.”
Ham So Won also said, “I feel sorry for Jin Hua too. If he had met a woman his age, I think things would have gone smoothly without any problems. From afar, I don’t see Jin Hua as someone with big problems.”
However, Ham So Won’s mother opposed their reconciliation. Her mother said, “I thought it would be helpful if my son-in-law also earned money while my daughter was working. I wanted them to live well, but he didn’t stick to working steadily.”
Jin Hua tried to persuade Ham So Won’s mother against opposing their reunion. He said, “I was 25 when we got married, but now I’m much older. What you think in your 30s is different. These days are completely different. I’m thinking a lot more than before.”
Later, Ham So Won and Jin Hua went for a walk with their daughter Hye Jeong. Notably, Ham So Won and Jin Hua showed affection by linking arms.
Ham So Won told Jin Hua, who has changed a lot recently, “If you had acted like this before, I would have really liked you.”
In an interview with the production team, Ham So Won candidly shared her thoughts on remarrying Jin Hua. She said, “We are approaching each other step by step. I think it’s necessary to take time to think about remarriage. In a way, this could be a bonus life. I want to live happily without wasting time with Jin Hua and Hye Jeong.”
Ham So Won married Jin Hua, who is 18 years her junior and Chinese, in 2018, and they have a daughter, Hye Jeong, but she revealed they divorced in 2022. However, they continue to stay in contact and meet for their daughter’s sake.
