An update regarding KATSEYE‘s Sophia has been announced.

In early August, it was announced that Sophia would be taking a temporary hiatus to ensure her “mental health and wellness are prioritized.” Since then, the idol has remained on hiatus with some updates, including one directly from Sophia herself.

On October 8, HYBE announced that Sophia would be returning to activities in January 2027. The notice confirmed that she would not participate in any activities for the rest of the year, but would be welcome back to the group at that time.
While many were excited for the update, others couldn’t help but compare the updates regarding Sophia to those made about Manon. Manon has been on hiatus since February 2026, and there have been few updates from the company about plans for her return.
