As news emerged that actor Yoo Seung Ho and actress Lim Se Joo have broken up after a six-year long-term relationship, Lim Se Joo shared her honest feelings.
On October 8th, Lim Se Joo told OSEN about the dating rumors and breakup with Yoo Seung Ho, saying, “As a rookie actress who has not yet made a name through my work, I feel cautious and sorry that my private life became public first.”
Earlier that day, dating rumors surfaced that Yoo Seung Ho and Lim Se Joo had been in a relationship for six years. According to reports, the two became acquainted while appearing together in the March 2020 tvN drama Memorist, and later developed into a couple.
Since this was Yoo Seung Ho’s first publicized romance and long-term relationship after debuting as a child actor, it attracted many congratulations and support from the public. However, the situation changed somewhat after official statements from agencies.
Lim Se Joo’s agency, Moving Pictures Company, told OSEN, “It is true that they dated for a long time, but they have recently broken up,” distancing themselves from the relationship. Yoo Seung Ho’s agency, 333 Entertainment, also said, “The two actors were in a relationship but have since broken up and are now maintaining a good colleague relationship.”
Lim Se Joo herself also acknowledged the breakup in an interview with OSEN, stating, “We were in a relationship but have now parted ways and decided to go our separate ways.”
However, as Lim Se Joo continues her active career, she expressed concern that her private life has become a topic before her work.
Lim Se Joo said, “I am still establishing myself as an actress, so I am worried that the public may remember me more for my private life than my work,” and cautiously requested, “I hope the public will look at me as an independent actress going forward and judge me by my acting.”
She added, “To make that possible, I will introduce myself as actress Lim Se Joo through a variety of characters and work harder to resonate with the audience. As always, please support both of us as we grow as actors.“
