A popular girl group has announced that its newest member, Nagisa Juri, has left the group just one day after debut — and the reason is turning heads.

Juri was unveiled as a member of PLANCK STARS, an eight-year-old Japan-based girl group, on October 17, making her debut with the group on October 18. By October 19, however, she was already gone.

In a statement posted on the group’s official account, PLANCK STARS’ management confirmed that Juri would be graduating from the group effective immediately due to their “dirty” performance style and “disgusting” fans.

She explained that she finds PLANCK STARS’ live performance style dirty, disgusting, and viscerally unbearable, and has also come to find PLANCK STARS’ fans equally disgusting. This has pushed her to her mental limit, and she asked to graduate from the group, in part to rest physically and mentally.

At their event on October 18, PLANCK STARS reported that a fan had forcibly lain down beside a member who was lying on a bed set up at the venue. According to the group’s management, Juri was unable to keep her feelings to herself.

While putting up with it until now, she had regularly been saying things like ‘I want to quit already’ and ‘They’re really disgusting’ to the fans who support us and to the other members. Although saying these things had helped her relieve stress, she reached a mental breaking point where even performing live became too much for her. After discussing the matter together, all the members reached this conclusion.

The group confirmed it will carry on with the remaining members, promising to “keep bringing the same energy” to its performances. Shortly after, Juri shared a farewell message of her own, where she hinted at a possible return under one condition.
急なお知らせになりすみません。
気持ちの悪いオタクがいなくなったら
またプランクスターズとして
ライブしようと思います。
1日でしたがありがとうございました。 https://t.co/tyPMUvTGAQ

“I’m sorry for the sudden announcement. Once the disgusting fans are gone, I think I’ll perform live as part of PLANCK STARS again. It was only one day, but thank you.”
— Nagisa Juri
Shockingly, Nagisa Juri isn’t the first member to leave the group for the same reason. Tanaka Iroha also withdrew in August 2021, eight months after debuting, citing the grossness of PLANCK STARS’ performance style and fans as her reason.
