Former AKB48 member Haruna Kojima has surprised fans after announcing that she has both gotten married and welcomed her first child only recently.
On November 7, the 38-year-old Japanese star shared a personal announcement on social media, revealing that she had given birth to her first child and officially registered her marriage.
She explained that she had wanted to wait until after giving birth safely before sharing the news with the public.
Fortunately, both she and her baby are healthy, and she is currently enjoying a peaceful time with her family.
“I am very sorry to share such personal news, but I have recently given birth to my first child.
I wanted to share the news with everyone only after I had safely given birth, which is why I am announcing it at this time.
Thanks to everyone, both mother and baby are healthy, and we are spending our days peacefully.
I would also like to announce that I have officially registered my marriage.
To everyone who has always supported me with such warmth, the people I have worked with, and the members of my company who are always working hard alongside me.
I am once again reminded of how fortunate I am to have so many people supporting me.
I will continue to approach my work with even greater sincerity and dedication than before.

For those unfamiliar with her, Kojima is one of Japan’s most recognizable former idols. She debuted as an original member of AKB48 in 2005 and became one of the group’s most popular members.
She was also part of the famous “Kami 7,” a nickname given to seven of the group’s most popular members during its early years. She remained with AKB48 until her graduation in April 2017.
Her unexpected announcement has since attracted attention from fans, with many expressing surprise at how she managed to keep both her marriage and pregnancy private.
