Shining a light on MBC’s upcoming In Your Radiant Season, promos have officially taken off with a stormy Lee Sung-kyung (The Nice Guy) and sunny Chae Jong-hyeop (Serendipity’s Embrace) leading the mystery-romance series in the first script reading and character stills.
As our central heroine, Song Ha-ran (Lee Sung-kyung) is the chief designer at our story’s ~haute couture~ fashion house Nana Atelier – a family business. Having a very guarded personality, Ha-ran keeps her complex and emotional baggage hidden behind a seemingly impressive veneer. And she has, in a sense, trapped herself in a never-ending winter internally.
I suspect, though, that spring is coming for our Ha-ran and his name is Sunwoo Chan (Chae Jong-hyeop). As a character designer, Chan works for an animation studio and, incidentally, carries trauma from his past as well. However, in contrast to Ha-ran, Chan’s defense is (perhaps overcompensating) to live each day like it’s summer vacation.
In supporting roles, the charismatic Lee Mi-sook (Tempest) takes on the part of Kim Nana, a doting grandmother to Ha-ran and her two sisters. But as we can tell by her name, Nana is also the legendary designer who founded Nana Atelier. And her next life chapter will be bringing lovey dovey vibes with the retired Kang Seok-woo (Goodbye Earth), who now runs a neighborhood café playing barista Park Man-jae.
Rounding out the main family, Han Ji-hyun (Face Me) plays the amicable and spirited middle sister, Song Ha-young who is currently a junior designer at Nana Atelier. And maknae sister Oh Ye-joo (Love Your Enemy) plays the mature and talented high school student, Song Ha-dam. The cast lineup also includes Kwon Hyuk (Karma), Jang Yong-won (Pegasus Market), and rookie Kim Tae-young among other talents.
Slated to premiere on February 20, MBC’s In Your Radiant Season will be following The Judge Returns in the Friday-Saturday slot. Production has PD Jung Sang-hee (Please Send a Fan Letter, Wonderful World) and PD Kim Young-jae (The Pork Cutlets) co-directing, alongside scripts penned by Jo Sung-hee (Thirty But Seventeen).
