    This is his second offence.

Former FANTASY BOYS‘ member Yoo Junwon is facing the risk of legal action after carrying out activities independently without authorization.

Funkystudio, the production company behind MBC’s Boy Fantasy, has issued a warning to Yoo Junwon for proceeding with a second instance of unilateral activities. This is the second time he has tried to operate independently despite his contract with the company.

“Despite having previously been caught in 2024 attempting to proceed with a Japan fan meeting without consultation with the production company Funkystudio, which resulted in the event being canceled, Yoo Junwon was once again discovered attempting to carry out another Japan fan meeting, after reports from fans of his group FANTASY BOYS.”

Recently, Yoo Junwon had announced through his personal account, “I will be holding a fan meeting in Japan for the first time after a long period of preparation,” revealing plans to hold fan meetings in Japan on March 7 and 8.

In response, Funkystudio stated that he had tried to hold the fanmeeting through another company in Japan.

“For this fan meeting, there appears to be an attempt to proceed through a carefully planned and deceptive method by switching companies within Japan. In general, within the Japanese entertainment industry, when legal disputes regarding contracts between an agency and an artist are ongoing, it has long been an unwritten rule and established custom for the artist’s activities to be restrained or limited. Nevertheless, MY ENT SHOP, which is leading this Japan fan meeting, is displaying irrational behavior by disregarding these industry conventions. We plan to respond with zero tolerance not only toward Yoo Junwon individually, but also toward the parties behind the scenes attempting to push forward with this fan meeting. Kiss Entertainment, the Japanese management company for FANTASY BOYS, has also stated that if MY ENT SHOP proceeds with the event, it will take strong legal action and file a lawsuit seeking damages.”

Previously, Yoo Junwon’s request for a provisional injunction to suspend the validity of his exclusive contract with Funkystudio was dismissed. Funkystudio is currently pursuing a damages lawsuit against Yoo Junwon totaling ₩3.00 billion KRW (about $2.07 million USD).
