Wie Ha-joon follows the call of Siren’s Kiss to Park Min-young

Danger is nigh in tvN’s latest teasers, positioning Wie Ha-joon (Squid Game 3) to follow the trail of victims who befell the Siren’s Kiss, bestowed by our mystery story’s dark heroine Park Min-young (Confidence Queen).
It’s a difficult case to untangle for insurance fraud investigator Cha Woo-seok (Wie Ha-joon) – not to mention the police – as there have been three separate deaths that are seemingly linked to art auctioneer Han Seol-ah (Park Min-young). But despite the suspicious circumstances, Seol-ah is well aware that there is no hard evidence that can prove that these deaths were homicide versus accident. And she deflects when commenting on what happened to their insurance payouts.
Yet, even if Seol-ah didn’t commit murder(s) for insurance money, there must be something sinister that Seol-ah is concealing because the glimpses we get in the sequence suggest that she may not have been a willing partner in these so-called ‟romantic” relationships with the deceased. And it’s curious that Kim Jung-hyun (A Hundred Memories) thinks that our heroine is up to something, questioning if she’s plotting revenge.
Whatever it is that has happened, though, Seol-ah is certain that Woo-seok will never discover the whole truth. And indeed, all he can deduce for now, very simply, is that loving Seol-ah somehow leads to death. It also looks like he’s tempted to give it a try for himself. But the hardened Seol-ah is sardonic as the second trailer comes to an end, wondering what kind of face Woo-seok will have when looking at her, if he learns the real truth.
Adapted from the 1999 Japanese series Ice World, production for the Korean remake has PD Kim Chul-kyu (Mother and Mom, Flower of Evil) at the helm and writing by Lee Young. Slated to premiere on March 2 next month, tvN’s upcoming suspense-thriller Siren’s Kiss will be following Spring Fever in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
