Rookie boy group ALPHA DRIVE ONE is facing backlash after comments made during a recent music show pre-recording left fans feeling hurt and dismissed.
On February 7, several fan accounts from a music show recording began circulating online. According to attendees, the members repeatedly asked fans whether they had eaten. When many fans responded that they hadn’t, some of the members allegedly reacted in a way that upset those present.
“And during the second take, they asked if we had eaten and when everyone said no, Sangwon and Sanghyun said that there was a break between the slots and that we seemed to just like being able to say that we’ve not yet eaten. We were treated as if we were purposely doing it.”
Another fan claimed that a member implied that fans were exaggerating their situation. Fans also alleged that during a second pre-recording, the group questioned why fans hadn’t eaten despite there being a short break in between. Some members reportedly suggested that fans could have grabbed something from a convenience store nearby.
“ALD1 who keeps asking us if we have eaten, and ALLYZ who keep saying no.
ALD1: ‘Still?’
Junseo: ‘At this rate, don’t you guys just enjoy saying you’ve not eaten?’
Sanghyun: ‘You guys can just buy something the day before at the convenience store and bring it with you, right?’”
These comments did not sit well with attendees. Many pointed out that music show recordings can be physically exhausting. Fans often line up for hours, sometimes overnight, and endure long waiting periods with limited access to food, rest, or seating. Netizens criticized the boys.
