The scramble for power reaches its Climax with Joo Ji-hoon
by tccolb
It’s a steep and slippery climb to the peak of power in ENA’s Climax. But those bloodied steps will still be pursued by Joo Ji-hoon (Heroes on Call – The Trauma Code) – among others who feel worthy – in the mystery-noir’s newly dropped first poster and video teaser.
Opening the trailer with a smirk that should be trademarked, we first meet prosecutor Bang Tae-sub (Joo Ji-hoon), who is quickly accused by his wife Ha Ji-won (Curtain Call) that he has always only seen her as a tool to use for achieving his ambitions. And Tae-sub doesn’t deny it. Instead, he points to how much it cost him to get even this far and he’s not about to let anything stop him from ascending higher.
The devious Cha Joo-young (The Queen Who Crowns) warns Tae-sub, though, that this is all only the beginning. And she certainly plays in influential (and dangerous) circles, as the (second) wife to our story’s WR Group chaebol chairman. All the while a broken Nana (Mask Girl) remains watching the scene unfold.
But the once top star actress Chu Sang-ah (Ha Ji-won) has fierce goals of her own and she’s just as determined to see them through. Tae-sub isn’t surprised, though, believing that humans can instinctively recognize people who are similar to themselves. And that brings us to our story’s main five players in the teaser’s closing sequence, which includes the shrewd Oh Jung-se (Tempest) – the WR Group chairman’s eldest son.
Slated to premiere on March 16 next month, ENA’s upcoming Climax follows Honour in the Monday-Tuesday slot. Production for the melodrama has filmmaker Lee Ji-won (Miss Baek, Portrait of a Family) at the helm, who also co-wrote the scripts with Shin Ye-seul.
