These are not the first daesangs won by these artists; however, this lineup in particular has sparked some mixed reactions. On a post recapping the winners, many reacted with criticism, with some citing the lack of any female daesang winners, while others questioned the mentioned group’s achievements.

While examining if there is some sort of gender bias is something worthwhile, it appears that fans simply want their favorite artists’ hard work recognized.
