JTBC’s upcoming second-chance romance Still Shining releases a new teaser showcasing the history between its two leads. Starring Got7’s Jinyoung (Our Unwritten Seoul) and Kim Min-joo (Undercover High School), the once young lovers share a sweet romance that turn into tears, but as they reunite as adults, can they change to start anew?
The teaser begins with Yeon Tae-seo (Jinyoung) sitting alone in the dark until he switches on a lamp and remembers his past. His memories are filled with Mo Eun-ah (Kim Min-joo), cast in the glow of the sun and tinged with nostalgia. Trips to the beach, shy smiles across a gate, and all the little, quiet moments shared in their small town play in quick snippets across the screen. She tells him that she just thought of a dream, and he replies, “It’s the first time I’ve seen someone say they are happy.”
Just as Tae-seo found Eun-ah intriguing, she thought the same about him. She says that she started observing a hardworking person and sneaks glances at Tae-seo whenever she can. As she sees him caring for his sibling and diligently studying, she feels inspired by his actions.
However, two became one, and the lovers who once cheered for each other have separated. Standing on the bridge alone, Tae-seo wonders why they ended up like this, and on a bus, Eun-ah cries, contemplating on how they fell apart.
Their feelings, though, have not disappeared, and Eun-ah turns around to run back to Tae-seo. She tells him that they have not broken up which means he can look, and Tae-seo reaches out to grab her hand. He says that if he was not certain, then he would have never started, suggesting that a new future could be in store for the exes.
Directed by PD Kim Yoon-jin (Tell Me That You Love Me, Our Beloved Summer) with scripts by Lee Sook-yeon (A Piece of Your Mind), Still Shining drops two episodes every Friday starting March 6 for a total of ten episodes.
