In the latest episode of KBS‘s Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller, actress-turned-professional MC Ha Ji Young revealed that she hasn’t been in a romantic relationship for the past decade—and the reason isn’t what you might assume.

On the show, while discussing her long-standing career, Ha Ji Young revealed that she has no dating life.
Ha Ji Young: This is something no one knows, but I haven’t dated even once in the past 10 years.
Lee Soo Geun: Oh, wait. Are you not married? Come to think of it, I’ve never heard anything about you dating anyone.
And when show host Seo Jang Hoon asked whether it was due to her ambition for work or because she had been hurt by someone, Ha Ji Young gave the most unexpected answer:

Seo Jang Hoon: Why? Is it because you’re busy, or because there’s no one you like?
Lee Soo Geun: Or is it because you have a unique preference? A lot of people say that here.
Ha Ji Young: It’s because I’m very straightforward by nature, and wherever I go, people always ask me for celebrity gossip or behind-the-scenes stories. I just can’t bring myself to spill stories about people around me.
To make sure she keeps her mouth shut, Ha Ji Young explained that she avoids gatherings, which has inevitably led her to never meet anyone new!
I worry that I might make a mistake, so I avoid drinking gatherings and meeting new people. I only see the same people over and over. My friends say I don’t answer their calls.

In response, Seo Jang Hoon said times are different now, and that she can tell people whatever she wants and let them figure out whether it’s true.
