    Do NOT try this.

A new weight loss trend in China is causing concern. The trend showcases young people placing a piece of plastic between food and their mouths while eating.

They then grab the plastic and cleanly remove the food from their mouth without consuming anything.

The premise is that pretending to eat the food might help you feel full. However, there are much more downsides to this trend.

Those who attempt are at risk of choking, consuming microplastics, and even developing an eating disorder.

The clips have gone viral online, with many mocking the extreme lengths that people will go to in order to lose weight.
