Jisoo considers Seo In-guk vs. Boyfriend on Demand
by tccolb
Parading out the pretty, pretty cameos to make Blackpink’s Jisoo (Newtopia) swoon from her Boyfriend on Demand, Netflix has come out with a new poster and video teaser set. But can AI really win against our leading man, the also – if not more – heart-fluttering Seo In-guk (Twelve)?
There’s just so much to do in Seo Mi-rae’s (Jisoo) day-to-day and the busy bee understandably wants her precious few hours after work to be worthwhile. It’s thus a tempting offer from Lee Hak-joo (Beyond the Bar) to subscribe to a virtual dating service, allowing Mi-rae to enjoy all the thrills of romance like magic. It’s a tailor-made experience, conveniently online, and she can tap into any place, any activity, and with anyone.
Guided by the sassy Yoo Inna (Bora! Deborah), the AI service starts Mi-rae with the princely appetizer Lee Soo-hyuk (S Line). And then we skip ahead to college sweetheart dessert Seo Kang-joon (Undercover High School).
The possibilities are endless, though, taking Mi-rae across different time periods as well as different genres, escorted by more guest appearances from Lee Jae-wook (Last Summer), Ong Sung-woo (Strong Girl Nam-soon), Kim Young-dae (Dear X), and Jay Park (a.k.a. Park Jae-bum) among other handsome charmers.
And yet, Mi-rae remains distracted on all her fantastical dates because her thoughts keep turning back to someone in her real world: her grumpy colleague and rival webtoon editor Park Kyeong-nam (Seo In-guk).
Unfolding their rom-com journey over 10 episodes on Netflix, Boyfriend on Demand will be launching on March 6 next week. Production for the series has PD Kim Jung-shik (No Gain No Love, Strong Girl Nam-soon) directing, with writing by Namgoong Do-young.
