On the 23rd, a new video titled Life’s Barracks Story (ft. Yeon Ye Rim) was released on the YouTube channel “Hi Ssemi.”
That day, Park Se Mi and Yeon Ye Rim opened up about comedian recruitment exams. Park Se Mi expressed envy toward Yeon Ye Rim, who passed the open audition, but Yeon Ye Rim frustratedly replied that after passing the audition, she didn’t even get on stage 10 times.
Park Se Mi said, “When I was about to take the open audition, MBC disappeared, then SBS disappeared, then KBS disappeared, and then Comedy Big League disappeared. What’s the point of KBS coming back when I’m already in my mid-30s?”
Park Se Mi lamented, “Even newcomers these days aren’t like before; they’re freer. So much has changed. When I joined as a rookie, my really close friends were senior comedians? I’m just too tired to run errands now. I have back pain from getting up.”
In response, Yeon Ye Rim also said, “I’ve had disk surgery twice,” and “I’m someone who’s had a lot of various surgeries.” Park Se Mi asked, “You haven’t had LASIK, right?” but Yeon Ye Rim replied, “I have. Why would you think I haven’t?”
Hearing this, Park Se Mi said, “Just list all the surgeries you’ve had,” and Yeon Ye Rim said, “I can list them all. I’ve opened myself up.” She revealed, “First, breast surgery, then eyes—8 times. People think if you’ve had eye surgery eight times, you’re trying so hard to be pretty that you keep going from bigger to smaller, back and forth.”
Yeon Ye Rim explained, “But this was more like a medical accident. My eyes wouldn’t close because my muscles were pulled too tight. No matter how much effort I put in, I couldn’t close them. My eyesight kept worsening, and since I couldn’t close my eyes, I had to do it.”
Especially, Park Se Mi said she has enough money to redo any surgical area, but Yeon Ye Rim replied, “I don’t think like that,” and went on to mention the surgeries she had. Besides the eight eye surgeries, she had jaw surgery, orthodontics, dental work, two disk surgeries, LASIK, and breast surgery. Yeon Ye Rim added, “My body is entirely messed up. It’s completely wrong.”
