In the most recent episode of tvN’s You Quiz On The Block, choreographer J Black appeared as a guest and shared his story of working on A2O LITE’s song, “Neon.”
When asked about the popularity of the dance, he stated, “I didn’t create it alone. I worked on it together with my colleagues.” He added, “It’s the first time people have embraced my choreography like this, so I feel like a rookie myself. I’ve discovered a new position for me as a choreographer.”
Regarding his past work with idols, he expressed, “Many of my proposals were rejected because they were too difficult, and the ones that were used didn’t gain much recognition.”
As for the backstory behind the making of the “Neon” choreography, known for its high level of difficulty, he revealed that Xili and Aijing were like daughters to him.
It’s the first time I’ve made choreography this difficult for an idol group. When I sent a simpler version, producer Lee Soo Man asked me to make it more difficult and spectacular. I purposefully made it more difficult, but I was shocked when they managed to execute the moves perfectly from the first day.
