An actress revealed the shocking details behind her unexplained absence from a project.

Tan Songyun (also known as Seven) is a Chinese actress and singer best known for her roles in television series, such as The Whirlwind Girl, The Fox’s Summer, and Go Ahead. During her guest appearance on the reality show Dear Inn 2026, Tan ended years of speculation about her abrupt disappearance mid-filming.
When a cast member pointed out the visible scar on Tan’s upper lip, Tan revealed that she suffered an injury on set that tore part of her lip off. The situation was so dire that it would have required major reconstructive surgery to repair, according to Tan’s surgeons, if her lip had been even slightly more damaged.

Surgeons successfully stitched Tan’s barely attached lip back in place, but for a time, Tan couldn’t speak, had difficulty eating, and needed to go on hiatus to heal. Although Tan didn’t specify when the injury happened, it is believed she was injured while filming the 2024 C-Drama As Beautiful As You. At the time, Tan was rumored to have stepped away from production because she wasn’t happy with the billing arrangements for the series.
