Singer Ailee and her husband Choi Si Hoon expressed their feelings over sudden pregnancy rumors.
Recently, a video titled “Honey, they say it’s the Maldives of Japan…” was posted on the couple’s YouTube channel.
The couple, Ailee and Choi Si Hoon, went on an early summer vacation to Miyakojima, Japan. Ailee said, “We’re going to play in the water, but it’s been raining until the day we arrive back in Korea,” revealing mixed feelings before departure.
Upon arriving at Miyakojima, the two barely checked into their hotel amid pouring rain and then searched for a shabu-shabu restaurant. Although they sat down, shabu-shabu was not on the menu. It turned out Choi Si Hoon had mistaken the restaurant entrance and gone into the wrong place.
After a quick meal, they went to the originally intended restaurant. Ailee joked about Choi Si Hoon’s dedication to finding a great restaurant, saying, “Since we’ve been going through IVF and had some failures, we’re trying to make my body healthier, and he feeds me various things. But I’ve gained 2 to 3 kilograms.”
Choi Si Hoon said, “Gaining a little weight is fine,” but added, “But then these pregnancy rumors started, and although I’m not the one involved, I got angry.” The rumors arose because Ailee appeared to have gained some weight recently.
Ailee’s Side Addresses Pregnancy Rumors
He continued, “We’ve been through so many tough moments with IVF. We’ve documented everything on YouTube—even though it’s a difficult process—because we wanted to create lasting memories and be grateful if good things happen.” He sounded bitter, and Ailee shared, “People might not know. They might not know what we’ve been through. During IVF, you’re supposed to gain weight and get healthier, but it was so tough and stressful that I kept losing weight.”
Choi Si Hoon explained, “She’s in the recovery phase now, eating well, and getting her health back. It’s a time she needs to recover. Maybe the reporter didn’t know and wrote the article carelessly, but writing that she’s pregnant is uncomfortable.”
Ailee laughed and said, “Haven’t you gotten a lot of congratulations?” Choi Si Hoon replied, “My friends keep congratulating me. Even yesterday, two people did. A company CEO came and said, ‘Congratulations on Ailee’s pregnancy.’”
Ailee coolly said, “I’m eating a lot of delicious food and getting healthier. As I eat more regularly, I did gain weight. That’s a fact.” Choi Si Hoon strongly added, “If someone criticizes her for gaining weight, they’re basically asking for a barehanded fight.“
