Recently, Song Ja Ho, the CEO of Management Pium, shared his school experience with ALLDAY PROJECT’s Annie.

Annie, who is known as the eldest daughter of the Shinsegae Group Chairman, is a member of the co-ed K-Pop group ALLDAY PROJECT.

The CEO recalled his high school days with Annie in the U.S.

When I was in high school in the States, Annie was at a gathering of close friends. At that time, the new AirPods came out, and they were about 200,000 KRW ($~139.80 USD). Annie was debating whether to buy them, and even jokingly asked if I would buy them for her.

Hearing this, he remembered thinking that kids who had more seemed to want more.

In regard to her family background, he stated, “It was already well-known among my friends. She’s the daughter of Shinsegae Group’s chairman, so naturally she’d be better off than me.”

However, he added, “But actually, children of mid-sized companies like me spend more money. Third-generation chaebols don’t have much money as students.”

When he was asked if Annie was preparing to become an idol at the time, he replied, “There was no such talk at the time, but I think she had some talent.”

He also mentioned meeting Annie again at an event before her debut with the group.

I sensed a difference in class after seeing how naturally the owner interacted with people. It’s not easy to succeed as an idol unless you come from a major entertainment company, so I’m impressed that ALLDAY PROJECT is doing so well.

    — Song Ja Ho

However, fans were frustrated that people were using Annie to gain attention.

    • “This isn’t something Annie has mentioned herself. It’s so tiring to see people using Annie to gain attention.”
    • “It’s not even something that Annie said.”
    • “Annie has nothing wrong.”
    • “The important thing is Annie has not said anything about this.”
    • “Celebrities must be so tired of having anything they say in private becoming used in this way.”
