Bae In-hyuk and Noh Jung-eui become parents in Our Universe

Get ready for a different kind of natural disaster in tvN’s upcoming romantic comedy Our Universe. Headlined by uncle-turned-dad Bae In-hyuk (Check In Hanyang) and aunt-turned-mom Noh Jung-eui (Crushology 101), the story follows the misadventures of two in-laws who have now become the co-parents of an adorable little baby.
The newest teaser opens to an eerie score as thunder and lightning rumble in the background. Bloody handprints decorate the walls, and a discarded cup lays on the floor covered in white powder. Stepping out of a room together, Seon Tae-hyeong (Bae In-hyuk) and Woo Hyeon-jin (Noh Jung-eui) observe the mess before them — their living room looking absolutely ransacked.
As they turn on the lights, the mood shifts into a brighter tone, and at the center of this disaster zone is their nephew Woo-joo, whose name means universe in Korean. With his hair and face covered in flour, little Woo-joo squirts a bottle of ketchup directly onto the floor, which explains the bloody handprints and powdered substance from earlier.
The new parents describe their nephew as a “natural disaster that fell from the sky without any warnings” or in other words, “our universe.” While we do not know the exact circumstances that led to this unique arrangement, what we do know is that Woo-joo’s maternal aunt and his paternal uncle have teamed up to raise him.
Though parenting is difficult, it seems from their expressions that Tae-hyeong and Hyeon-jin are head over heels for their rapscallion nephew, but who can blame them. Baby Woo-joo looks like an angel, even when being a menace and turning the apartment into a food experiment gone wrong.
Directed by PD Lee Hyun-seok (Hello? It’sMe!) with scripts written by Soo-jin, Shin Yi-hyeon, and Jeon Yuri, Our Universe is slated for twelve episodes and premieres February 4 in tvN’s newly resurrected Wednesday-Thursday slot.
