Typhoon Family (Completed) – I finally finished this, although I cannot tell you why, despite liking the actors and the characters and the ensemble and the romance, it took me so long to get through. Even though it had a good start, I didn’t feel that urge to keep up with it as it was airing, and then subsequently, it just didn’t have the pull I want from a show. I have no clue how I would have “fixed” this to be better; there was nothing I actively disliked, and there were no annoying tropes, although the villain did start grating on me toward the end, and maybe introducing Mr. Bae earlier in the show might have prevented the last two episodes from feeling like a convenient situation for Typhoon Trading to get a final win. Oh well, I guess sometimes things just don’t click for you, and that’s okay.

Undercover Miss Hong (6/16) – Genre-wise, this feels similar to Typhoon Family, although it’s much more of a fun watch, maybe because of the female focus and maybe because things are a bit more lighthearted. This is my first time watching Park Shin-hye in anything, and while she’s enjoyable enough, I like the others in the roommate gang more. I’m glad they didn’t drag out the ex-boyfriend finding out the truth, because there’s no way I’m buying that a man wouldn’t recognize his ex, no matter how much she tries to sway him otherwise, unless she was wearing an Americans-level disguise. FL’s relationship with her FSS boss is too cute, though! He’s also in The Practical Guide to Love, and I love him there as well.

The Practical Guide to Love (10/12) – I went into more detail in the show thread, but despite all odds, I really am enjoying the pace and trajectory of the show. I wouldn’t say the leads are my favourite characters, by any means, but it’s been nice just watching a gentle story about people finding love. I realize it’s not really stuck to its name or initial premise, but that’s not really bothered me. I will be following Lee Ki Taek to whatever he does next, though, because he’s been lovely to watch.

In Your Radiant Season (7/12) – In theory, this should work for me, because I like the main actors a lot, but people keeping secrets from their loved ones (even if it’s for “good” reasons) is one of my least favourite tropes, and this show dips into that well far too often for my liking. I also find the writing to be a little on the lazy side, with too many convenient (or inconvenient) coincidences, and it irks me that the angst feels overly manufactured. The situation is tragic enough, but I feel like the story is milking it for more than it’s worth. Also, I’m sorry, but in the world of smartphones and technology, there is NO excusing not keeping in touch with someone you like (maybe even love) after having to suddenly leave to another country. Do better.

Moving (2/20) – I recently started this, and it’s been a fun foray into a genre I haven’t explored in Kdramas yet. I…
