New images of BLACKPINK’s Jennie have drawn backlash.

Previously, Jennie held an exhibition featuring photos of herself titled J2NNI5, and along with the in-person event, a photobook was released. The Unveiled PHOTOBOOK features 625 pages of unreleased photos of the idol.

Some of these images, upon fans receiving the photobooks, were shared online, including some featuring the idol in a one-piece bathing suit.

In response to the images, Jennie was subjected to body shaming over her size and accused of acting “childlike” to appeal to men with a “Lolita” theme. Lolita refers to the novel by Vladimir Nabokov, which depicts a pedophilic relationship between the novel’s main character and a 12-year-old girl.

Many came to Jennie’s defense in response, saying that there was nothing wrong with her body size. Additionally, fans questioned why Jennie having fun and smiling constituted “child-like” behavior, completely banishing the allegations.

While allegations of appealing to sexual predators is a serious issue, Jennie’s existence as a petite woman does not does not equate to “baiting” such individuals.
